then I found
the easy out
and slipped off
undetected, my necklace
then each consecutive piece
removed
til some crazy cosmic theory
my naked body
proved
A poem written each day upon waking. It's mostly unedited. I think that's the point. Promise not to laugh, or let me give up, and please, wish me luck.

the sensation warms
to a steady buzz -
atoms that rattle
faster than before.
the sound is a symphony
and I, am a higher frequency
and changed for that passing moment
we spent passing
through the same door.

in preparation
I've set out several canisters
hollowed receptacles -
empty tins,
collection bins,
scattered 'cross
the hungry moss
of my back yard to wait
(in vain)
for the next love rain.

even the deepest sleeping
doesn't shake the sensation
of waking too soon -
of hotel rooms -
a bed unmade,
a bill unpaid,
and it'll feel this way
til we all come tripping
from the ceiling
into a cozier
feeling.

To be optimistic
would be to say
we're only on pause
like a good flick
but my distaste for modern film
kicks in
and I start to itch
and wish
for it all to be over with.

he shines only in tints
of gold and purple, gleaming
spreading light
with waters
like rivers, streaming
I loved the unbounded landscape
he was
and his feet were bare
and there
he was.

trying to decipher
code words in the morning -
we're akin to "us" and "them"
fighting battles to the gallows
ending up as murdered men.
a fugitive emotion
with several felonies -
I'll warm my hands between my thighs
cause they've got no place else to be.

here we are again
drawing lines
perpendicular to the moon
the thing we made in me
is a mask I can't unmask -
a liquor-filled flask
an arduous task.
we'll never get any place
from 3 steps back.

Mindless amoeba, multiplying in some
non-carnal sin.
Science like assigning seats at random
instilling shame -
forced evacuations and obstacle courses
As we run, we stumble over
the carefully placed blame.

"I bought you a rose" he said
and it was finished before it began.
See,
I don't do flowers.
I don't do flowers, like I don't pay for sky,
or sunlight,
as if to buy some dirt.
To what extent
can't we be bothered?
To use what we have -
To say what we mean -
But we can't.
So we let something dying
represent love
and I can't stand
idly by;
so I don't do flowers;
I'll do it myself.
and it was finished before it began.

she does yoga in the clouds -
she never rushes death, we all get there someday
anyhow
you'll be - condensing in the sky
then falling - hapless hopeless breathless
brace yourself and don't ask why

you'll be - condensing in the sky
then falling - hapless hopeless breathless

I'll just I'll only ever compare us
to the most intangible things;
We are living dinosaurs -
We are the end of world hunger
We are flightless dodos with golden wings.
We are soaked in coulda/woulda/shoulda:
taking baths but never clean.

Logic isn't required or stable
and time isn't able
to prove -
This is why I keep asking you,
What are we going to to?
The apocolypse is an inevitable dawn;
I know which drugs I'll be on.
and time isn't able
to prove -
This is why I keep asking you,
What are we going to to?
The apocolypse is an inevitable dawn;

After nine, it's quiet time,
Repugnance in her empty whine
The cradle falls -
Another pause -
The time lost is mine.
"He monopolizes votes,
Inspires instant anecdotes!"
Hear it when it's screamed in me,
She's up on her penology
Interrogate
Intoxicate
Forget what you see.

The cradle falls -

It's a mystery
Far be it
From me to see it
Solved
You're the one, you know
Far be it
From me to tell you
So
Far be it
From me to see it
Solved
You're the one, you know
Far be it
From me to tell you
So

Lacking the legs to leave -
Your lucid eyes let me believe.
Lacking the language to lie -
Lonely logic left behind.
Lucky in love:
An addiction to be fond of.

Lonely logic left behind.
Lucky in love:
An addiction to be fond of.

Sometimes bleeding a little
ink
ink like someone else's blood
like weeping eyes
and leaching dyes
Sometimes bleeding a little
ink
to freeze
to let the letters skate
conceited circles 'round
the page
Sometimes bleeding a little
ink
is the only way to quiet
that twitching
that itching
to get right to the
(fucking)
point.

When I say "we" -
I never mean just you and me.
When I say "you" -
I seldom know who I'm talking to
But I try to make it true enough
to catch you, should you choose to jump
And I only convey so vague a thought
that I can deny it when I'm caught.
I never mean just you and me.

Times New Roman
Boxed and tall like castle walls
Keeps us kosher, keeps us in line.
Something removed
in those newspaper hues;
It's the perfect font to hide behind.

I found my lover, impatient,
on the other side of the sun.
Between a vapor and a liquid -
we felt an affinity,
a holy trinity,
like we could be
either one.
With us standing this close,
the day will never be done.
on the other side of the sun.

we felt an affinity,
a holy trinity,

either one.

And so we dance backwards
drifting like trembling faults.
The city falls as the populace chokes,
on the resin of a thousand
ticky tacky hacking tokes.
Destructive little tantrums
as our armies ride into the motes;
Shaking that sticks to us, grips our desires
as certain as hurting,
as earthquakes start fires -
In the sure and obscure view
of settling dust, the sun is dim,
and I think we're both tired of living in sin
so darling,
let the genocide begin.

drip
drip
drops of queasy morning sun
seep into horizontal blinds
penetrate hibernating skull.
feels like something's missing
like catching breath while swimming
whether you're here or not
the drip
drip
drop
keeps the same stagnant beat
of store bought alarm clocks
or tired, throbbing feet.

Your words are bigger than you think,
ironic or comic -
Gurgling the verbal vomit:
Arbitrarily eating
as deadly acid eating
disintegrating flesh
of the heart still beating
blood through tense ventricles
trying to hold on
as a hundred wriggling tentacles
of a wicked beast long gone

icy voices with
visible breath
crack the AM dew
into two.
I'll take this half,
the other is for you;
nourishment til stubborn sun
recalls he's got a job to do.
all we ever had was a
poetic rhyme, unsatisfied -
song birds in chilly mornings
where true emotions hide.

I knew it was yours -
(my mistake)
Nerves like tidal forces
dripping in the wake.
I remember the time
I forgot what it was like
to be afraid.
